Q. any plans to make a higher end unit with a core i7 extreme and better graphics card such as nvidia 280 or better?

A. Yes, after initial launch we will offer Intel i7 and more graphics options such as NVIDIA 280.

Q. I would love to have one of these. Who can I contact to get it on the pre-order? I am canceling my W700ds order tomorrow due to crappy service and continued shipping delays.

A. We are preparing pre-sale event now and product will ship at the end of January.


Q. I intend to place the laptop on an airdesk (www.airdesks.com) to work comfortably.
Therefore may I know the dimensions and weight, in particular, of the 15.4 version. The airdesk is supposed to support up to 8kg.

A. The 15.4-inch Spacebook weighs 8.7 pounds.

Q. I was really hoping to get one of these for Christmas but you don't seem any closer to revealing a release date, and 2009 is almost over! The wait is killing me (and being in Australia means I have to wait until last anyway!)

A. For customers wanting to spend company dollars before the end of the tax calendar, we are preparing a pre-sale event for early orders. We will ship early orders to USA and Canada.

Spacebook pre-sale event for December 2009

We are planning a pre-sale event for December 2009, we will post more details here before the 15th. The 17-inch gScreen Spacebook will have 2 (TWO) 17-inch LED screens with a resolution of 1920 x 1200.

update:
We are working on payment processing and final price and spec details for pre-sale, we expect pre-sale before end of December.

Spacebook launch December 2009?

We are still hopeful (today) that we may have a limited number of gScreen Spacebooks (dual-screen laptops) available at the end of December, initially to USA/ Canada and a broader, larger supply for January-February globally.

The decision to release a 16-inch Spacebook or a 17-inch Spacebook first, has been a challenging one. It looks like 70% or more of our customers want a 17-inch Spacebook right now, and we have to take all factors into consideration before product launch.

We look forward to bringing the Spacebook to the global market ASAP and want to thank everyone for their support and feedback on a daily basis.
